This is one of the very few times that a tv adaptation of a book, all be it one of the best books ever, managed to match the actors to the parts brilliantly, I know that the chap that played Michael ‘Mouse’ Tolivier (Marcus D’Amico) wasn’t Armistead’s first choice, but I just fell in love with him.. Laura Linney was just born to play Mary Ann Singleton, make sure you read the books first but then do get the dvd’s 🙂
