Unfortunately in the world we live in there are some people out there who take great joy in damaging our websites – hackers!  There are a few things we can do though to help prevent this from happening.

The first and the most important thing to do is to make sure you keep your site up-to-date, this means once a month (or more often if possible) you need to update the plugins and WordPress files. I have created this video below to show you how easy it is to do.

The other things to do are to be very careful when using your e-mail on the internet; if your e-mail is associated with your site then this can also be a way of people gaining access to your site.

Make sure you have very strong passwords, there are websites in which you can create a password as opposed to using the one you use everywhere else. Here’s an example of one of these websites that many people find helpful; https://strongpasswordgenerator.com
